I photographed this beautiful lifestyle newborn session for a family in the Washington DC area. As a Washington DC newborn photographer, I love capturing these early days in a relaxed and natural way. Lifestyle newborn sessions focus on connection between parents and their new baby, creating timeless images that document the beginning of a family's newest chapter. I also photograph newborns and families in their homes located in Northern Virginia.

There is something so special about those first quiet days at home with a new baby. Everything feels a little slower, a little softer, and filled with so much love. I loved getting to document these moments for Ashton and his family, capturing the way his parents looked at him with so much wonder.


I love that Ashton’s mom and dad chose to have his newborn session at their home. As a Washington DC and Northern Virginia newborn photographer, sessions like this are some of my favorites. In home lifestyle newborn sessions allow families to relax in their own space and simply soak in these fleeting early days together while I document the connection and joy that naturally unfolds.


I also loved getting to see Ashton’s nursery and all the thoughtful details they put into creating such a sweet space for him. It was clear how much love and care went into preparing for his arrival. Their sweet pup even made a little appearance and joined us for a few of their family portraits, which always makes sessions feel even more personal.


He was the most content little one and slept through most of his session while mom and dad snuggled him.
