Welcoming a baby in Washington DC looks different than anywhere else. As a Washington DC newborn photographer, I photograph families in historic rowhomes, bright apartments and beautiful homes using soft window light and a calm, unhurried approach. Those early days at home are slow and tender. My sessions are designed so you can stay comfortable in your own space while I gently guide you and document connection as it naturally unfolds. You don’t need a perfectly prepared house or a perfectly content baby. The meaningful moments happen in between.

Most of the families I photograph want newborn photos without packing bags, driving across the city, or worrying about everything going to plan. The session simply follows your baby’s pace.

While many Washington DC families choose in home sessions, I also offer a simple studio space in Herndon, Virginia for families who prefer a minimal and cozy setting.

Most DC homes don’t have studio sized rooms and they don’t need them.

I use natural window light and photograph in the spaces you already live in: beds, couches, and nurseries. Whether you live in a Capitol Hill rowhouse, Georgetown home, or Navy Yard apartment, I work with your space to create soft, timeless images.

You never need to clean your entire home or prepare perfectly.

When Should You Book?

Most families reserve their newborn session during the second trimester to ensure availability around their due date.

Your session is scheduled after baby arrives, so early or late arrivals are never a problem.

I frequently photograph families welcoming babies from Sibley Memorial Hospital, George Washington University Hospital, and MedStar Washington Hospital Center.

Sessions typically take place within the first 2–3 weeks, but older newborns are always welcome.

What to Wear?

Soft neutrals, simple textures, and comfortable clothing photograph beautifully in DC homes.

After booking, I help you plan outfits so everything feels cohesive without looking overly styled. Most families wear items they already own. The goal is to look like yourselves, just a little more intentional.
