As a Northern Virginia Newborn Photographer, I am fortunate to work with so many wonderful families in the DC area during some of the most important moments of their lives. It brings me so much joy to provide images that families can cherish for a lifetime.

There’s something incredibly special about having a newborn session in your own home. The photos of you sitting in the chair where you rock your baby to sleep every night, the crib where your little one will soon sleep soundly, or the moments with your sweet dog cuddled by your side as you relax on the same couch you spent hours on during your pregnancy, binge-watching Netflix and enjoying ice cream. The cozy blanket you wrap yourself in every night, the nursery you’ve spent months designing, and the artwork above the crib that you carefully aligned – these personal details create the perfect, yet wonderfully imperfect backdrop for a beautiful session.

I’m delighted to share this newborn session from Arlington, Virginia with you. Baby Bennett, already a month old at the time of our session, was wide-eyed and alert, enjoying every moment of snuggling with his parents. While I typically photograph newborns when they are 7-12 days old and typically more sleepy, this stage brought a lot of fun as Bennett was engaged and curious.

The couple’s home was beautifully decorated, with large windows all around, allowing natural light to fill the space in such a peaceful and serene way. It was such an honor to be in their home, capturing these special memories. I also loved their clothing choices – the neutral tones of both the space and their outfits complemented my aesthetic perfectly.
